The project is implemented with the financial support of the European Union in Uzbekistan.

Geography of the project: Republic of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, Fergana, Kashkadarya, Navoi, Khorezm and Jizzakh regions.

Project implementation period: 2023-2025.

The goal of the project: to promote a constructive dialogue on the development of gender policy, to expand active participation and growth of inclusion in the decision-making process through strengthening the rights and opportunities of women in Uzbekistan.

Expected results of the project:

• 80% of the 70 representatives of targeted CSOs demonstrate confidence in their role as independent participants in the development process;
• 50% of women-led CSO representatives, community leaders and civil activists will report progress in terms of effectiveness, responsiveness, transparency in the implementation of local and national gender policies;
• 10 small grants will be successfully implemented by women's NGOs;
• An Alternative Report on SDG 5+ will be developed;
• will be developed recommendations based on the results of the National Women's Forum;
• Presentation of the results of the Alternative Report on SDG 5+ at the international level;
• The project will also provide specific recommendations to the Government of Uzbekistan on the development of the State Program for 2023 and 2024.

What has been done:

• Innovative workshop on participatory research planning for the development of an Alternative Report on SDG 5+
• Monitoring of observance of women's rights and preparation of the SDG 5+ Alternative Report by representatives of civil society and experts of women's CSOs;
• The Forum of Women's NGOs of Uzbekistan was organized in Tashkent
• An Innovation Laboratory on Gender Issues was organized in Bukhara.
• Training on gender policy and gender analysis was organized.
