INITIATIVE
The Urban Planning Wave initiative under the Yuksalish Movement is an association of local architects and designers aimed at promoting their common opinion, advanced ideas and projects, and reforms in the architectural and construction sector.
RELEVANCE
In recent years, Uzbekistan has experienced a construction boom. However, local architects and designers are not always taken into account in these processes, which is reflected in the current appearance of the cities of Uzbekistan. The involvement of professional architects and designers in the processes of urban development and planning, the widespread introduction of modern technologies, and the harmonious combination of traditions and new architectural trends remain relevant.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:
- creating a reputable community capable of having a leading influence on the development of cities in Uzbekistan;
- creating opportunities for realizing the professional potential of young architects and designers;
- increasing the status and attractiveness of the profession of architect/designer.
EXPECTED RESULTS:
- initiation of reforms in the architectural and construction sector of Uzbekistan;
- creation of a database of architects and designers;
- preparation of regular reviews of new buildings in cities and regions of the republic;
- holding professional events: creative meetings, exhibitions, conferences, forums, etc.;
- conducting research on the formation of a modern ethnic style of local architecture;
- encouraging active architects of Uzbekistan by initiating special competitions and awards;
- creating opportunities for the realization of the professional potential of young architects and designers, including through master classes and trainings with leading experts in the field of architecture and construction, involving them in urban planning projects, information support for the professional activities of young architects;
- establishing cooperation with the Union of Architects of Uzbekistan;
- active cooperation with the media community.
