The Yuksalish Movement continues to support environmental initiatives by organizing tree planting-activities in three districts of Tashkent: Mirzo-Ulugbek, Chilanzar, and Yashnabad.

The “One Million Trees” campaign, launched in 2019, aims to improve the environmental situation in Uzbekistan.

The implementation of the project became possible through memorandums of cooperation signed with JSC “Avtomatlashtirilgan Transport To’lov Tizimi Operatori” (ATTO) and “Plum Technologies.” These companies supported the initiative to create green spaces in the city and promote environmental awareness.

As part of the “One Million Trees” campaign, special attention is given to planting trees on the premises of social institutions. Three medical facilities have been selected for this purpose:

  • Tashkent City Branch of the Republican specialized scientific and practical center of endocrinology named after Academician Y.H. Turakulov;
  • Center for pediatric hematology, oncology, and clinical immunology;
  • Republican children’s center for phthisiology and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders.

When selecting the saplings, both climatic conditions and the preferences of the institutions’ representatives were taken into account.

At the Endocrinology Center, fruit trees, willows, crimean pines, and ornamental mulberry trees were planted, providing not only shade but also a comfortable environment for patients. At the center for pediatric hematology, oncology, and clinical Immunology, benches were installed, and junipers, lavender, and various types of shrubs were planted to improve the microclimate and make the area more comfortable for visitors. At the Children’s Center for Phthisiology and Rehabilitation of Musculoskeletal Disorders, Crimean pines—which have a beneficial effect on air quality—were planted alongside fruit trees.

A total of 192 saplings were planted across the three locations as part of the campaign.

To ensure high survival rates, organic fertilizer is used to strengthen the root systems of the trees. Special attention is given to ongoing maintenance: irrigation systems are being set up at each site, and designated staff are assigned to monitor and care for the plants.

- We want green spaces to become an integral part of the urban landscape, and for caring for nature to become a daily habit for everyone, said Bobur Bekmurodov, Chairman of the Yuksalish Movement and Chairman of the Legislative Chamber Committee of the Oliy Majlis. -  It is particularly important that our efforts focus on social institutions—such as hospitals and rehabilitation centers—where clean air is especially valued. Planting saplings is just the first step. The key is to ensure proper care for them. We hope this project will set an example for others, and we encourage residents to join our initiatives. Together, we can make Tashkent even greener!

- At ATTO, we always look towards the future, and that future belongs to our children. By participating in environmental campaigns, we can bring our values to life by making children's medical centers greener and more eco-friendly, - emphasized Davron Shoyokubov, Executive Director of ATTO. Every tree we plant symbolizes hope and care, creating a nurturing environment for young patients. We aim to help children recover in surroundings that are calming and inspiring, thanks to nature.

- For the team at Plum Technologies, participation in the «One Million Trees» campaign is primarily about caring for our children and their health. We are especially proud to contribute to the greening of children's medical centers. The trees we are planting today will not only beautify the space but also create a more favorable environment for the youngest patients, helping them recover faster, - said Erkin Khidoyatov, Executive Director of Plum Technologies.

As part of the «One Million Trees» campaign, the social eco-project “Time of Heroes” also expressed its support for the initiative, emphasizing the importance of creating favorable conditions for future generations.

Environmental responsibility is about caring for the health of society and preserving natural resources. «Yuksalish» Movement invites all concerned citizens to support environmental initiatives and contribute to the green future of Uzbekistan.
