The public discussion of the draft Voluntary National Review (VNR) of Uzbekistan’s achievements on SDGs has taken place.

On May 19-21, the online conference was held to engage the CSOs of Uzbekistan for the discussion of the draft Voluntary National Review on the first monitoring of the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals in Uzbekistan. During three days the discussion brought together over 400 representatives of ministries and departments, NGOs and other civil society institutions, international organizations. The video conference was organized by the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan together with the Nationwide movement "Yuksalish", the UN Agencies in Uzbekistan, and the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan’s efforts on addressing human rights, gender issues, violence, discrimination, media freedom and freedom of speech, the environmental protection and climate change, as well as welfare, income generation, employment and social protection of the population became the main topics of the three-day online conference. The participants expressed their opinions and recommendations on implemented actions so far in these areas in Uzbekistan and on the priority tasks and challenges.
